We went skiing for the last time of the season at Nubs Nob on Thursday, March 27. It was a beautiful sunny day. By the time we came home that afternoon, the greenhouse temperature was 95 degrees! The orchids are in full bloom in the front window, the bulbs are beginning to pop up in the front garden, and it's beginning to feel like spring. And then…
Yuck. That was the word to describe the bathroom. The layout was awful, a complete waste of space. The toilet was back in an area all by itself. Wood walls. A little sink. A tub without a shower. A complete gut job.
Most people know that my favorite color is green. I did like the bedroom color, however, we have a love seat from my grandma that I reupholstered years ago in a blue–yellow–cream colored upholstery fabric. It was in our bedroom in Waterford and we wanted it in our bedroom here as well. So, the green had to go.
Trying to finish the siding AND the Greenhouse before the cold weather was a race against time. Throw in an unexpected roof leak, canning tomatoes/pickles/salsa, and a much neglected area in the yard, and we had our hands full!

In the process of leveling the greenhouse area, we ended up with two zones between the trailer parking and the greenhouse that were at different heights. So, we decided to do a sunken patio in front of the greenhouse entrance and a berry garden next to the trailer parking. Both sides of the greenhouse were also used for planting.
With two acres of land, we have plenty of space for a vegetable garden. The best space is the south side of the garage and down into the valley. It gets sun all day long. But first, we begin with a hops garden!
Since our entrance door faces the side, house numbers don't make sense on the house itself. They were originally on the garage, but I wanted them up front in the yard. So we added a small annual garden there.
